Administrative Assistant

This position provides various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Senior Vice President of Administrative Services and the Senior Vice President of  Student Services and Workforce Development, including planning and implementing special projects and activities that are under the Senior Vice Presidents’ authority.

The duties of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to: 
 

  • Plan and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic files
  • Compose internal and external correspondence
  • Prepare reports, create presentations, manage projects, and conduct research
  • Maintain the calendar of events for the Senior Vice Presidents
  • Track the budget expenditures and allotments for the offices of the Senior Vice Presidents
  • Make travel arrangements as necessary for the Senior Vice Presidents
  • Administer rentals of facilities to outside agencies
  • Interact with various individuals and groups such as students, faculty, staff, and senior administrators
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice Presidents

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required
  • Community college experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of office equipment such as the computer, printer, copier, fax machine, and telephone

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment
  • Frequently sitting at a desk using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Working closely with others
  • Periodically working irregular hours
