Virtual Construction Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

The virtual construction intern will collaborate with senior VC team members in the day-to-day activities of all aspects of Building Information Modeling (BIM) including, but not limited to, visualization, sequencing, quantity take-offs, modeling, administration, and coordination. This position offers the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of commercial construction building practices, utilization of VC software and programing, and other virtual construction best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS                                

• Understands and maintains VC standards and practices and ensures they align with the company’s building processes.
• Assists in implementing VC processes with senior VC team members and company project teams.
• Utilizes BIM software to support visualization, model coordination, shop drawing creation, and other BIM-related activities. 
• Participates in miscellaneous VC projects and demonstrates a desire to learn. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in an Architecture or Construction-related degree with at least one year of classes completed.   
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Revit, and Bluebeam. Other BIM software experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated to continuously improve and learn new tools and processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily an office position with some travel to project sites.
