Expectations:
The Operations Specialist role will focus primarily on materials management including sourcing, forecasting, and developing products to support 2-COM’s Marketing Solutions. The role will participate in the supply chain from start to finish including vendor relations, item set-up, demand planning/forecasting, purchasing, and cost management. The role is data-centric but has a relational, collaborative element with our clients and vendors to ensure we are providing the best service and solutions to add value to their business. Operations support will include both the manufacturing and marketing arms of 2-COM.
Ideal Candidate Description:
The ideal candidate will have high organizational and analytical ability. The candidate must hold details and processes at a high value, while also being willing to get creative when solving problems. The position requires someone who can see the big picture and is business savvy when making purchasing decisions, reacting to supply chain disruption, and communicating with the vendors or clients. The ideal candidate should have a passion for orchestrating multiple processes simultaneously to ensure smooth supply chain flow and providing a frictionless experience for the client. The ideal candidate is proactive in their work, not reactive.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Work daily in a focused, detail-oriented position working with multiple production and labor resources to schedule and maintain accurate and timely production to meet client demand.
- Creatively add and/or suggest additional product offerings to fill current/future client needs or refresh client product lines
- Self-education regarding market leading and trending products, materials, and technology
- In depth work in the ERP system (NetSuite) and client portals to manage daily sales orders, activity reporting, forecasting, and product transaction workflow.
- Collaborate with team members to guarantee clients and internal stakeholders are receiving accurate product and workflow information.
- Organize, process, and record the production of market items and services.
- Work with account managers and clients on various solution opportunities to provide, report, and score best-in-class service using KPIs.
- Work with vendors on price quotes, schedules, quality control, sourcing, and delivery of items/services.
- Data entry such as items, item groups, sales orders, purchase orders, item descriptions, pricing, etc.
- Monitor production dates and provide strong communication to the account manager, client, and distribution center team.
- Engage in Demand Planning to purchase items to meet client forecasting while also supporting 2-COM cash flow directives.
- Work to ensure strong profit margins throughout the purchasing process.
- Problem-solve to support an ever-changing supply chain to ensure a smooth flow of inbound and outbound product.
- Work with client-facing teams on ongoing projects such as trade shows, new campaign launches, and new product roll-outs.
- Develop graphic design skills to provide in-house basic design solutions including product lay-outs, mock-ups, and marketing collateral.
Required Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of the principles, procedures and best practices of industry
- Demonstrate a high skill level of detail, technical, and creative orientation
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, etc (2-COM is a NetSuite subscriber)
- Ability to work within multiple platforms such as ecommerce sites and customer portals
- Contributor to a constructive and positive work environment
- A high level of competency with the Microsoft Office suite
Education / Experience:
- College degree in a related business/technical discipline preferred
- Up to 2 years of industry related experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer / sitting or standing
- Must be able to work in both air conditioned and non-air conditioned environments as needed
