YMCA Human Resource Information System Intern

As a YMCA Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Intern, you will support the HR Operations team by analyzing system data and assisting with the configuration and optimization of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in HR technology, systems and configuration and people analytics.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to contribute to process improvement through data-driven insights and systems thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis efforts to assist with HRIS system configuration and reporting.
- Document business requirements and test cases to support HR system enhancements.
- Participate in system testing and data validation for new features or updates.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to identify areas for process automation and operational improvement.
- Help create and maintain user guides, documentation, and training resources for HR systems and analytics tools.
- Conduct data reviews and audits to ensure system data integrity.
- Research trends in people analytics and HR technologies and share relevant insights with the team.
- Assist with special projects in areas such as talent management, compliance, and workforce planning.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Junior or senior-level student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Strong aptitude for learning new software systems through practical experience.
- Demonstrated interest in HR technology and data analytics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Previous experience with HR systems or configuration is a plus but not required.
Details:
- Schedule: Flexible Hours Monday-Friday within business hours of 9:00am-4:00pm.
- Hours: 20-25 hours weekly.
- Start Date: Immediate availability preferred.
