WORK STUDY - Photo and Video Intern Career Services

The Photo and Video Intern will assist our marketing team in capturing and editing photo and video content to promote Career Services initiatives and events. The role requires someone who is passionate about capturing content through photos and videos, driven to improve and develop their editing skills and has an interest to gain experience in event photography, marketing collaboration and visual storytelling.

Qualifications

  • Experience with digital cameras
  • Understand photography techniques, lighting and composition
  • Proficiency in photo editing software (Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro, not required
  • Availability for Career Services events
  • Experience in video production, not required
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Interest in or knowledge of photography, videography, composition and marketing
  • Work Study eligibility required
  • Preferred class standing Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Preferred minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • First consideration will be given to applicants who apply before 5:00 PM, Friday, August 29th, 2025.

Development

  • Cross train in other focus areas such as administration, career advising, employer relations and marketing

Responsibilities

  • Minimum of two-semester commitment
  • Collaborate with Communications Strategist to generate shot lists and production timelines for campaigns
  • Capture and edit photo and video of Career Services events
  • Assist with marketing and logistics for special events (i.e. career fairs, etiquette dinner, etc.)
  • Available to work minimum of 8-10 hours/week in fall and spring, in conjunction with Idaho’s academic calendar (excluding University Holidays)
  • Provide customer service to front desk as needed
  • Prepare professional portfolio to use in future interviews during course of internship
  • Collaborate with other marketing interns to produce marketing and promotional materials for campaigns
