IT Support Specialist

Are you a hands-on IT professional with a passion for solving problems and supporting end-users? REJIS is seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our team on-site at Bi-State Development. In this vital role, you’ll provide day-to-day technical support, maintain essential IT systems, and build strong relationships with our customers to ensure seamless and reliable operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Level 2 technical support for desktops, servers, and network devices to REJIS staff, Bi-State employees, customers, and vendors
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and small computer equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, escalating as needed
  • Manage and support Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Office Suite and Exchange
  • Maintain accurate records in the helpdesk ticketing system and communicate resolution results to customers
  • Assist with server installations and configurations, and support network infrastructure and desktop environments
  • Periodically visit customer sites and transfer devices between locations as needed
  • Support the installation of data/voice wiring and troubleshoot telephone and wireless LAN issues
  • Safeguard sensitive information and comply with all REJIS, CJIS, MULES, and customer guidelines

 

Every nine weeks, this position participates in a one-week rotating on-call shift.

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus 6 months to 1 year of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Industry certifications such as A+, Net+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Office 2013/2016/Outlook, Java, HP and Dell hardware, and general networking
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly learn new software products
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and vendors
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively
  • Physical ability to perform moderate technical work, including lifting up to 75 pounds and using ladders
