RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Gaming & Esports Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting and supporting the director, assistant director, coaches, and students of the Maverick Gaming & Esports Community. This role involves coordinating and facilitating functions of RSOs that fall under Maverick Gaming. This role provides supervision of student workers for program and RSO events and competitions. This position will directly report to the Maverick Esports Assistant Director and collaborate with other members of the Maverick Gaming & Esports team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree conferred by date of appointment.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by appointment date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits per semester during assistantship; must maintain 3.0 GPA.
- Demonstrated history of professionalism, dependability, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized with a strong record of working independently, meeting deadlines, and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication ability demonstrating tact, inclusivity, and a positive and supportive attitude.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of esports and the esports industry.
- Experience with Registered Student Organizations and Clubs.
- Experience hosting and running esports events
- Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
RELATED INFORMATION:
- This assistantship will be 20 hours per week, with various duties, including coordinating productions of live events, student supervision, and other duties as assigned.
- Contingent on satisfactory performance and available funding, this appointment may be continued beyond the initial period of employment.
- The initial appointment will be made from the pool of applicants available at the deadline specified above.
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
