The Role
Our Production Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and management of production equipment and physical infrastructure of FBC facilities. This includes inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing (or contracting for repair of) mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results. You'll support a great, dedicated team of craftspeople who make awesome chocolate and desserts. You'll learn a lot, and offer your own passion for precision, follow-through and clean work habits.
Responsibilities
- Supporting our team by supporting the physical plant, with a good attitude.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Ensure that all vehicles are cleaned, fueled and in proper working order
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in facilities management or maintenance position
- Strong problem solving skills
- Mechanical and technical skills
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of or ability to learn excel and/or google sheets, google suite, smartsheets
Working conditions
- Your hands get dirty, but sanitation is critical.
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support the mix of single-shift manufacturing and extended retail hours.
- Mixture of indoor and outdoor work in varying climatic conditions
- May be subject to high noise levels (PPE Required)
- May include occasional repetitive tasks with infrequent rest periods
- May be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Physical requirements
- Standing for extended periods
- Reaches, bends, and stoops frequently
- Solo lift 50 lb. regularly
- Team lift 70+ lb. occasionally with aid of cart or dolly
