K-8 Classroom Teacher
Position Overview
We’re seeking a dynamic and passionate educator to join our team as a K–8 Classroom Teacher in a multi-grade setting with up to 15 students. Our ideal candidate is flexible, growth-minded, and enthusiastic about supporting gifted learners both academically and emotionally. This is a full-time, in-person role that offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a small but dedicated faculty.
Key Responsibilities
Core Instruction (Self-Contained Classroom):
- Teach core academic subjects including:
- Mathematics, Reading & Literature, Spelling, Science, Social Studies, P.E., Creative Problem-Solving, Creative & Report Writing
Specialist Supervision & Collaboration:
- Coordinate with and support specialist instructors in:
- World Language (Japanese or Mandarin)
- Art, Music, and Technology
- Fencing, Swimming, or Ice-Skating (PE Enrichment)
Event & Program Coordination:
- Organize classroom field trips, curriculum events, and academic showcases such as:
- Storytelling Day (Kamishibai/origin stories)
- Winterfest performance (led by Music Instructor)
- Academic Bees
- Administer IOWA Achievement Tests (Grades 3–8)
- Prepare for parent-teacher conferences and write detailed year-end student evaluations
Personal Qualities:
- Interest in the academic, social, and emotional development of gifted children
- Eagerness to learn and participate in ongoing professional growth
- Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and communication skills
Qualifications:y
- Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certificate preferred but not required
(Temporary teaching approval available; support provided for certification path) - Experience working with gifted or high-achieving students preferred
(Weekly mentorship provided for new educators)

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $35,000
