Discipleship Minister; Care and Connect
Objective
This position provides leadership in the areas of caring for and connecting the people of St. Johns to the movement of Eleven22 as well as to equip the saints for the work of ministry. This position functions out of the St. Johns campus and will partner with the Campus Discipleship Minister to shepherd the flock.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with campus leadership and team to shepherd the St. Johns campus
- Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, development and accountability to direct reports and serve staff teams
- Participate in all efforts of campus setup and preparation
- Steward ministry area budget(s)
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Campus Pastor
Care
- Partner with Care team directors to provide leadership to the St. Johns Care team; vision casting, recruiting, training and managing Care team leads and team members
- Ensure effective communication including Care team huddles, check-in and service execution
- Provide leadership to the Marriage Mentor program and its core leaders
- Responsible for overseeing hospital and care visits, wedding events and celebration of life services
- Oversee campus financial and resource benevolence opportunities
Connect
- Develop, manage and grow connect events taking place throughout the year including Growth Track, baptism classes and baptisms among others
- Provide leadership to the Respond team; recruiting, training and managing a team responsible to engage visitors and help people get connected to Eleven22
- Manage the on-campus Connect Center (info center) and serve staff
- Manage and follow-up on weekly Respond cards and next steps
- Partner with Central Multiplication team to equip Multiplication Campus Leaders (MCLs) and ensure local mission annual goals are met

Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of ministry leadership experience including experience managing teams, volunteers and/or ministry areas
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree required
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is a full-time, exempt position with expected work hours to include all worship gathering times (typically Thursday and Sunday). Hours and schedules change from season to season.
Weekly Rhythms:
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday work in and around campus office
- Tuesdays work in and around Central offices located near our San Pablo campus
- Nights as needed for scheduled and unscheduled events
- Hours may vary depending based on church needs
The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and in and out of congregant’s homes. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. Some travel required.
Physical Demands
This role requires standing for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs. and some activity is required surrounding event set up and execution. The role will sometimes require the ability to lift heavy equipment, use tools and move staging equipment.
Ministerial Exception
The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
