Role Description: We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with senior staff and partners to support a wide variety of client needs. Responsibilities will include bookkeeping, draft financial statement preparation (compilation and review), and preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with small business clients across a range of industries to support their accounting and financial needs
  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and sales tax filings
  • Assist in the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and nonprofit tax returns
  • Draft financial statements for compilations and reviews in accordance with applicable standards
  • Communicate regularly with clients to answer questions, resolve issues, and deliver personalized service
  • Support year-end closing and other accounting projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with firm partners and staff to ensure accurate and timely deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: At least 2 years of accounting experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree
  • CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, professional attitude and willingness to learn
