Position Type: Casual – up to 20 hours a week regularly

Summary of Role:
The Social Media Assistant will assist in our social media efforts, email marketing, and other communications outreach initiatives to build and engage our audiences, raise awareness of our brand and impact, and enhance our reputation. You will develop content for our digital channels, including writing and developing imagery, including photography, video, and graphic posts for social media, e-newsletters, and websites.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Mission: Ignite team members to develop story/content to build our social media presence on a regular basis and highlight the Mission: Ignite brand and impact.
Serve as the primary operator for Mission: Ignite’s social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Execute the social media strategy to enhance Mission: Ignite’s brand and to engage new and existing audiences in our work.
Create and curate content that engages our audience, including video, photography, reels, and stories that are engaging and on message for social media channels.
Help manage the Mission: Ignite e-newsletter through Constant Contact, including developing content, managing audience lists, and reviewing analytics.
Monitor social media and e-newsletter analytics to better understand audience engagement and reach, and develop new methods of engaging additional audiences.
Collaborate with Mission: Ignite’s Communications lead to develop strategy, audiences, and content that ensures Mission: Ignite has a consistent voice and message.
As necessary, assist in developing content for additional communications materials, including promotional materials, press releases, and other communications vehicles.

Understanding and experience using social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook, and web communications; a willingness to research and experiment to leverage platform functionality.
Photography, video, and basic graphic design skills are a plus.
Some proficiency with Canva to create graphic designs for digital communications, and a willingness to learn and improve skills.
Strong communicator and willing to work with multiple team members and partners to extract news and stories for use in communications.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment somewhat independently and to be flexible when priorities change.
Creative mindset with the initiative to suggest new stories/content to enhance further and highlight the Mission: Ignite brand.
The ideal candidate will have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Education & Experience:
Associate's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Related relevant experience in internships or prior positions is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly $15.5/h
Mileage reimbursements for qualifying travel
Training on topics including educational training, computers, technology, and Microsoft products
