App Development Intern

🛠 Internship Opportunity: App Development Intern (Healthcare Tech Startup)

Location: Remote or Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid optional)
Type: Part-Time Internship | Flexible Hours | Summer or Fall 2025
Compensation: Paid (based on experience) or academic credit

About

We’re looking for a motivated and tech-savvy college student intern to help build a digital health application from the ground up. This app is focused on improving workflows and outcomes in healthcare practices, with a specific emphasis on surgical planning, documentation, and payer compliance.

You’ll work directly with a clinical expert and revenue cycle leader who’s driving innovation inside a high-volume orthopedic practice. This is a hands-on, resume-building opportunity to help bring a real app to life — from concept to prototype.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing the front-end and/or back-end of a web or mobile app (framework TBD)
  • Translate workflow needs into simple, functional UI/UX
  • Help evaluate options for databases, hosting, and APIs
  • Work with tools like Figma, Flutter, React, Firebase, Notion, or Excel, depending on skillset
  • Participate in weekly planning calls, present your progress, and contribute to the product roadmap

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in a college program (Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field)
  • Comfortable with at least one language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or Swift)
  • Interested in startups, healthcare, or building your own product one day
  • Self-driven, curious, and not afraid to learn something new or ask good questions

Bonus points if you have:

  • **Previous experience building apps**
  • Built apps Experience with low-code/no-code tools
  • Prior exposure to HIPAA-compliant app design
  • Familiarity with medical workflows or interest in health tech
