Junior Lawyer

As we continue to expand our practice, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Experience on various cases, including adjustment of status, applications for asylum and withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, Special Immigrant Juvenile Petitions, VAWA petitions, and I-601 and I-601A Waivers. The ideal candidate will be able to assess cases to create and propose strategies; work independently with clients to draft and prepare affidavits and applications for relief; advice on additional necessary evidence and witnesses that are needed or may be helpful to their case; prepare clients for interviews (adjustment of status, asylum, naturalization) and attend said interviews with clients; represent clients in removal proceedings before immigration court; conduct legal Research and prepare motions, memorandums and briefs as may be required.

Leading the staff
Court hearings appearance
Provide legal and organizational assistance to senior attorney
Asylum Office Interview preparation
Client Communication
Legal Research and writing
Preparing submissions for various deportation defenses
Coordinating paperwork related to immigration/citizenship, including affidavits, petitions, applications
Keep track of calendaring tasks and prioritizing assignments in order to meet deadlines
Qualifications/Requirements:
JD Degree
Active Member of NY State Bar
Bilingual: English/Spanish (Preferred but not Required),
Through knowledge of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)
Able to litigate Master and Individual hearings in court
Interpersonal solid client relationship skills; strong writing skills; must be willing to work independently and as a team; meticulous and detail-oriented; be able and ready to work under pressure and handle a significant caseload and meet deadlines.
-Pay: $75,500.00 - $95,500.00 per year
