Position Details:

 

One regular, full-time, overtime-exempt position, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus. The regular work schedule will be 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; must be available for occasional evening and weekend hours based on program needs. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

 

The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom. The second-level interviews may be in-person or via Zoom.

 

REMOTE WORK :

MiraCosta College believes that flexible work enables employees to achieve a more successful balance between work responsibilities and family life. The District offers the opportunity to telework (remote work) for certain positions, depending on the operational needs of the District and the provisions of the telework policy. Probationary and temporary employees are not eligible to telework unless approved by the appropriate vice president. No employee is guaranteed the right to telework. No employee shall be authorized to telework 100% of the time; regular, on-campus presence is expected for all District employees on a weekly basis.

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT :

MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high-quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.

 

The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed 12 consecutive months. 

 

Salary Range: 31

 

Compensation: Starting at $94,271 per year (range 31, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5.

Basic Function:

 

Under general supervision, coordinate, organize, and oversee the staff and daily operations of the Early College Credit programs including College and Career Access (CCAP ) dual enrollment, non-CCAP dual enrollment, and concurrent enrollment; build partnerships and collaborate with area school districts to develop, promote, implement, and assess early college credit pathways and courses for high school students; collaborate with instructional and student services departments at MiraCosta College to establish multi-year course sequences and embed supports for high school students through onboarding, program participation, and college completion; implement program policies and guidelines; ensure program reporting and accountability; develop and monitor the department budget; and perform related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities · Recruits, interviews, recommend hires, and trains staff. 

· Oversees scheduling, assignments, and the daily workflow of the department. 

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

MOU Development and Compliance · Manages and updates dual enrollment Memoranda of Understanding (MOU ) with K-12 districts and high schools, ensuring alignment with policies and legislation. 

· Organizes and assesses operational processes to maintain compliance with MiraCosta’s practices and external regulations.

Course Planning and Scheduling · Coordinates dual and concurrent enrollment options at MiraCosta, collaborating with instructional, counseling, and outreach departments to plan and schedule courses for high school students. 

· Partners with high schools to develop academic pathways and course sequences for dual-enrollment students.

Outreach and Recruitment · Leads recruitment and marketing efforts to increase participation in early college credit programs, with a focus on historically marginalized and underrepresented populations. 

· Coordinates events, communication strategies, and manages website content and social media to engage students, families, and educators.

Student Support and Services · Manages and facilitates support services for dual enrollment students, including counseling, onboarding, tutoring, and basic needs support. 

· Collaborates with MiraCosta and K-12 partners to establish a comprehensive student support structure.

Program Management and Reporting · Develops and manages processes to streamline registration, participation, and completion of early college credit programs. 

· Collects and analyzes program data to ensure effectiveness, prepares mandated reports, and manages grants to support program growth.

Education & Experience:

 

To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:

 

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and at least two years of closely related experience managing an instructional or student services program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in a post-secondary educational institution is preferred.

 

NOTE : For work experience, one “year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours. 

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

• Experience working in a California community college setting.

• Experience with dual enrollment or other early college credit programs offered to high school students.

• Grant management experience.

Primarily business office environment; subject to frequent public contact and interruption; intermittent exposure to individuals acting in a disagreeable fashion; may work at any district location or authorized facility with occasional evenings and/or weekends on an as-needed basis.
