Communications and Media Relations Specialist

Summary:

Rosen Hotels & Resorts is actively seeking a dynamic and creative Communications and Media Relations Specialist for an exciting opportunity to grow within one of Orlando’s most respected organizations. In this role, you will support all external and internal communications, media relations, and content development for Rosen Hotels & Resorts, its subsidiaries, and its philanthropic entities. You will also play a key role in monitoring media coverage, analyzing performance data, and using insights to strategically guide future media outreach across various platforms.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, skilled communicator, and compelling storyteller who can craft impactful content across print and broadcast channels to elevate brand awareness, engage internal audiences, and support organizational goals. This position reports to the Public Relations Manager and is based on-site at our Operations Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with news media, business partners, senior leaders, PR counterparts, and key community stakeholders.
  • Develop and distribute a wide range of content, including press releases, company announcements, advertorials, award submissions, media kits, video scripts, speeches, articles, and photo/video assets.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment using media monitoring and tracking tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Meltwater, Cision, TV Eyes); compile regular media reports and assist in developing media responses and press kits.
  • Compile and analyze media performance reports to strategically plan and target future media opportunities across various platforms.
  • Manage constantly changing work priorities in a deadline-oriented, time-sensitive environment that requires flexible availability. This includes morning, evening, and weekend opportunities.
  • Produce content that highlights company leaders, develop story ideas, and pitch them to local, regional, and national consumer media, as well as select trade outlets.
  • Collaborate with the leisure marketing team to align PR and media strategies with business goals and increase brand visibility across all markets.
  • Support the planning and execution of public engagement campaigns, community outreach events, and media opportunities that align with the company’s mission and brand.
  • Serve as a secondary media contact for Rosen Hotels & Resorts and its affiliated entities, including Millennium Technology Group, RosenSure, RosenCare, Harris Rosen Foundation, Rosen Parramore PS8 Foundation, Tangelo Park Foundation, Adam Michael Rosen Foundation, Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center, and any future RHR endeavors.
  • Support external and internal communication initiatives, including associate updates, newsletters, and organizational announcements in collaboration with Human Resources and Social Media teams.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance communication strategies and media outreach.
  • Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, or public relations.
  • Prior PR Agency experience preferred.
  • Experience with media monitoring and tracking tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Meltwater, Cision, TV Eyes) and content scheduling and analytics tools to support strategic planning and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with AP style.
  • Strong content creation and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences and platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or video editing tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

 

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
