Basketball Camp Operations Internship

As part of our youth programs, we run summer camps every week with star NBA players including Kemba Walker, Clyde Frazier, Tobias Harris, Lance Stephenson, Enes Kanter, and many others. We're looking for someone to help provide a structured basketball experience for participants at camp. You will report directly to the NYC Basketball Kids Camp Director and Management and work with campers, parents, volunteers, & other camp counselors. (Note: This Internship is unpaid, we do however offer credits if your program at school allows it)
The role will be based in New York, NY at St George Academy. With camp beginning at 8:15 am and finishing at 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Either instruct campers in basketball at each program or help camp directors with day to day camp operations.
- Assists camp director and other counselors when necessary.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment where participants can learn and grow athletically.
- Helps campers arrive and depart for each program. Actively engages participants throughout the program.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of basketball & fitness concepts and techniques is required if you want to help with basketball instruction
- Ability to work with diverse populations and the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others.
