School Based Mental Health Clinician

Griffith Centers is looking for School Based Mental Health Clinician's to work in Adam’s 14 Public School District. The ideal candidates will understand the school professionals’ roles, identify the needs of students, understand child development and individual/family functioning, able to work with difficult to reach, traumatized, or disengaged individuals/families, and collaborate with other disciplines and community resources within schools and the community.  This professional may need to periodically go into the client’s home to provide family based work to support school-based treatment. 


Clinicians will be located in Elementary, Middle or High School. Part-time and full-time positions available. 

Salary (full-time): $50,000-$55,000 Annually Exempt- Working 10 months with 8 weeks off in the summer and options to work for additional pay during summer break. 

Potential to earn quarterly bonus up to $2000.

Qualifications: 

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, or from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Must have the capability to register in DORA as Registered Psychotherapist, LMFT, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW or licensed candidate.
  • Must have had a clinical internship and two years of clinical counseling work is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be able to drive on behalf of the company.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Able to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agencies clients and staff.


Job Expectations/Responsibilities: 

  • Provides a broad array of therapy services to adolescents, children, and their families that are referred by the school district, in a school based setting
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with school/district professionals and staff.
  • Maintain contacts, as necessary, with all person/agencies that may have an effect upon child/family functioning in order to coordinate service delivery and develop resources to aid effective discharge planning.
  • Completes all paperwork required for client files timely, per regulations and standards.
  • Participates in regular supervision with a Supervisor and attends other meetings and trainings, as assigned.  This includes Griffith Centers meetings/trainings, as well as school district meetings/trainings.
  • Becomes familiar with, understands, and complies with all applicable regulations of school district policies
  • Coordinates the delivery of therapy services on all assigned cases with other staff who are involved with the youth and his/her family.
  • Provides overall oversight of the mental health needs of all assigned students/families, makes recommendations, and follows up as necessary.
  • 80% of the time will be spent doing clinical work, 20% of the time will be spent doing care coordination with other school professionals.
  • Maintain a caseload of approximately 50 clients and approximately 100 clinical hours a month. Approximately 50% of client seen every other week, 25% seen weekly, 25% seen every 3 weeks.
  • A team player willing to go above and beyond to support our agency, Adams 14 school district, and our clients.
  • Other appropriate tasks/functions as determined by supervisor.
  • Continued client contact via tele health and in-home/community during school breaks
