Aquatics/Swim Instructor

UW Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Life. We provide safe, accessible, and dynamic recreation experiences to engage students in growth and wellbeing. UW Recreation serves over one million students, faculty, and staff each academic year through informal and formal recreation, including fitness and sports classes, intramural and club sports, outdoor education, mindfulness programs, and more.

Job Description  
Under the supervision of the Aquatics and Safety Manager, the Aquatics Instructor is responsible for instructing participants in group swimming lessons and/or water fitness classes. Examples of duties include: working to ensure the safety and effective learning progress for swim lesson patrons, demonstrating and providing positive and constructive technique feedback to patrons, and building community.

Minimum Qualifications 

University of Washington matriculated student

Water Safety Instructor certification, or equivalent work or training experience
