Grant Writing and Social Media Aid

AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS WHO'VE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA AND LOSS

The Just-In-Time Initiative was founded by a mother and grandmother who tragically lost their sons due to murder. They created the organization with the hope of aiding those who've experienced similar tragedy, and to help families navigate the journey of murder and trauma and prevent future cases of violence. The writing & social media aid will play a crucial role in further developing the reach and success of the initiative. 

Hours are flexible, communication with Directors is. essential.

OUR MISSION IS To uplift, encourage, motivate and educate others Just-in-Time as we go through this journey of surviving murder and trying to find our way to healing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborate with colleagues and write grant proposals to secure future funding for the Just-In-Time Initiative. Target grantors include clergy groups, federal agencies such as OVC and OVW, individual donors and/or foundations who've expressed public interest in supporting survivors of trauma, and other entities that would potentially support the goals of the initiative.
  2. Manage the Initiative's website and social media pages in order to market and grow the organization and continue spreading its message. This will often include simple photo and video editing as well.
  3. If able, the hired person will attend online meetings which will host survivors as well as individuals who support the Initiative. If the grants are successful, some of these meetings could potentially become in-person.
  4. Attend events to give out marketing materials and information about the organization (only applicable if the applicant resides in the greater Boston area).

 

COMPENSATION:

Compensation is contingent on the success of the grant proposals. The wage rate is subject to discussion between the hired person and co-founders of the initiative once grants are obtained. Beyond the grant, social media management and continued aid to the initiative will result in regular pay. As this is a social justice cause and necessitates academic abilities, the job could also potentially be used as credits or volunteer service depending on the requisites of the student's degree. This step will require the student to communicate with their own college administration and professors.
