Financial Planning Intern

Internship Summary

Gain valuable experience in the private wealth management industry with Aegis Consulting, a growing firm with 20 advisors across 10 offices nationwide. Our offices are located in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and Boynton Beach, Florida; Reston, Virginia; Solon, Ohio; and San Diego, Alamo, Campbell, and San Francisco, California. The Intern will be assigned projects based upon needs of Financial Planners and desired areas of interest.  The Intern will work cooperatively with professional staff who are responsible for the overall coordination of projects and programs.  This is a paid internship with potential opportunity to gain college credit. Hours are part-time and flexible.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Add new material to file records and create new records as necessary.
  • Eliminate outdated or unnecessary materials by destroying or transferring to inactive storage (according to file maintenance guidelines and regulatory requirements).
  • Find and retrieve information from files per requests from office staff.
  • Update, review, or add information to Commonwealth CRM.
  • Utilize Financial Planning Software
  • Investment Planning and Research Projects

Required Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate Finance or Financial Planning Program
  • Proven ability to think critically, work independently, and solve problems
    • Ability to ask questions when unsure
  • Self-motivated contributor who works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to complete accurate work under deadlines
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new software programs quickly
