Job Summary:
Develop and maintain student records according to District and state rules and regulations. Develop the master schedule and student schedule throughout the year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze new student records to ensure proper placement in class.
- Track new and transfer students to prepare for funding and mobility reports.
- Maintain filing system for current, new, and transfer students.
- Prepare new student packets, input and update demographic information and enter information into database.
- Prepare and create reports for attendance, mobility, grades and transcripts. Responsible for Impact Aid Cards, February Military Count, Office of Civil Rights Report and the March Report.
- Answer phone calls from parents regarding student absences.
- Assist in the development of the master schedule; input schedules, teachers and class list.
- Create reports for staff and District office utilizing information from master database.
- Attend monthly meetings of the District-wide Database Users Committee to improve system for District personnel.
- Compile grades for report cards and transfer to transcripts at semester.
- Distribute report cards/grade checks every 4-1/2 weeks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Over two years experience in a related position including data entry and retrieval.
- Basic data entry, math, and typing skills.
- Advanced computer skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of general office procedures and equipment and the ability to coordinate, plan, organize, prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner.
- Operating knowledge of Student Information System and current Microsoft Office software preferred at hire.
- A minimum of 50 wpm typing skills is highly preferred.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies, District Policies and department procedures; communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational background and recognize the important of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
