HIL Engineer

We are looking for an HIL Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As an HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining HIL test systems used to validate embedded software and hardware for automotive, aerospace, or industrial applications. You will work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and system architects to ensure that products meet stringent quality and safety standards before deployment. Your role will involve setting up HIL test benches, developing test cases, automating test execution, analyzing results, and troubleshooting issues. You will also be responsible for integrating new hardware and software components into the HIL environment and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with HIL platforms such as dSPACE, NI, or Vector, and a solid understanding of embedded systems, control systems, and real-time simulation. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HIL test systems for embedded software and hardware validation
  • Create and automate test cases for various scenarios and requirements
  • Integrate new hardware and software components into HIL environments
  • Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with development teams
  • Maintain and upgrade HIL test benches to support evolving project needs
  • Document test procedures, results, and system configurations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and requirements
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for identified defects
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with HIL platforms such as dSPACE, NI, or Vector
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and real-time simulation
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or C/C++
  • Familiarity with automotive, aerospace, or industrial communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience with test automation tools and scripting
