Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Town of Natick is seeking a passionate and motivated full-time Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist for the Department of Public Works & Facilities. In this hands-on role, you will help foster a culture of safety and environmental compliance across all town operations. Your work will directly impact the well-being of Town employees and residents. Be a key contributor to Natick’s safety mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Develop and implement workplace safety programs
  • Coordinate DLS/OSHA training and compliance
  • Conduct safety inspections and accident investigations
  • Support environmental compliance, especially within the Water Division
  • Assist in emergency preparedness
  • Collaborating with other Town Divisions/Departments and act as a liaison to regulatory agencies

Requirements
 

  • A degree in Safety, Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
  • Experience with EH&S and regulatory compliance; 1-3 years preferable
  • Knowledge of DLS/OSHA and MassDEP/EPA regulations
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Preferred certifications such as ASP, CSP, or HAZWOPER

Compensation and Benefits

The Town of Natick offers a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. This position is in a union (Local 272 Grade C11) with a salary range of $60,000 - $71,000; actual salary is dependent upon qualifications and previous experience.
