Special Education Teacher
Description
The Menominee Indian School District has a full time position available as a Special Education Cross Categorical/ID teacher at the Menominee High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate shall possess the proper certification from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for Cross-Categorical Special Education 1801, or 1811, 1830 with proper grade level endorsement.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate shall possess teaching experience with adolescent students, a desire to work with students of this age, and the ability to maintain a positive classroom environment. Candidate shall also possess experience in test interpretation, the ability to implement IEPs, plan for individual needs and develop IEPs accordingly. Possess a strong background in math, Reading and Language Arts, and possess knowledge in academics, and strong background knowledge in behavioral interventions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct, monitor and adjust teaching activities to assure student achievement, develop curriculum, plan and implement teaching strategies, and collaborate with colleagues in a team environment. Collect and report relevant academic and behavioral data to measure progress toward IEP goals to adjust programming to ensure student success. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers. The successful candidate will provide tolerance and extend understanding and nurturing to all students.
