This position is currently eligible to telework. This position is required to work in the office at least 1 day per week. This may change based on business needs.

Your opportunity at a glance:

The WSLCB Finance Division is announcing an exciting opportunity for a Fiscal Analyst 2 position in Olympia, WA. This position serves and complements the mission of the WSLCB by providing excellent customer service to our internal and external customers. This position complies with all laws and rules, federal policies and regulations, state policies and regulations governed by the Office of Financial Management (OFM), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and WSLCB policies/procedures related to accounting. 

This position utilizes the Beer and Wine Tax System to process, analyze, and interpret tax reports and financial data related to beer and wine receivables and distributions. This position assists with cash month closing of beer and wine privileges in the Beer and Wine Tax System, reconciles beer tax revenue, and prepares fiscal month/year end tax distributions.

Duties

 

Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes for beer and wine tax revenue.
  • Reconcile tax reports and payments to cash logs.
  • Analyze and correct tax report and payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor licensee activity to ensure taxes are paid accurately.
  • Reconcile and distribute beer tax revenue using Financial Toolbox, Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS), and Enterprise Reporting.
  • Verify accurate system entry of tax reports and payments.
  • Review invalid licensee activity and take corrective action.
  • Reconcile beer revenue codes and general ledger accounts.
  • Enter beer and wine tax reports and payments into the daily cash log.
  • Assign beer and wine revenue codes to incoming payments.
  • Verify report timeliness and accurate coding.
  • Process journal voucher corrections utilizing AFRS and Financial Toolbox as needed.
  • Perform desk audits of out-of-state brewery and winery direct shipments to Washington retailers.
  • Review and process beer correction reports, audits, and payments into the tax system.
  • Track and notify brewery and distributor licensees with past due balances and credits.
  • Update the monthly Brewer's Tax Rate Per Barrel Table for posting to the agency website.




 

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

Option 1


 

Five (5) years of professional experience in an area related to financial, fiscal, accounting, auditing, or payroll and including 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in college-level accounting credits or a commitment to attain the required credit hours in 18 months.


 

Option 2


 

An associates degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting or a commitment to attain the required credit hours in 18 months, and three (3) year of professional experience in an area related to financial, fiscal, accounting, auditing, or payroll.


 

Option 3


A bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting or a commitment to attain the required credit hours in 18 months, and one (1) year of professional experience in an area related to financial, fiscal, accounting, auditing, or payroll.
