Duties: Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, WR, the incumbent will work in a collaborative environment to perform engineering analyses, studies, and designs; prepare design drawings, reports, specifications, and quantities for a variety of State Water Project facilities and public civil-works projects related to flood control, water storage and conveyance facilities, environmental protection, and other water resources projects. Such work will include the design and analysis of site drainage, canals, check structures, levees, gates, weirs, pipelines, penstocks, turnouts, roads, culverts, spillways, retaining walls, pump houses, and other hydraulic structures and related facilities. The incumbent will provide a broad working knowledge of civil design, reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical design, applicable design and building codes, and engineering analysis computer applications. The incumbent will support construction activities by making site visits, reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information, and inspecting constructions.
