Job Title: Bradenton Area Tutor -  (In-Person) Ages 5-18

Job Description:

Position Overview: AEI is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Tutor to join our team, specializing in math and reading education. This in-person role will involve working with students ages 5-18 at a local library or center, providing personalized support to build foundational academic skills. 

Responsibilities:

Subject Expertise:

  • Provide expert tutoring in math and/or reading and select subjects to students within the specified age range.
  • Tailor instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs and goals.

In-Person Engagement:

  • Conduct tutoring sessions in person at a designated local library or in home.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students.

Professional Representation:

  • Uphold a professional demeanor that reflects AEI's values.
  • Interact with students, parents, and library staff in a courteous and respectful manner.

Communication Skills:

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Regularly communicate progress and areas for improvement to parents or guardians.

Technology Integration:

  • Utilize technology to enhance tutoring sessions and provide additional resources.
  • Stay abreast of educational technology trends and incorporate relevant tools into teaching practices.

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Adapt to flexible schedules each quarter based on student needs.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions up to 90 minutes each session, depending on age appropriateness.

Training and Meetings:

  • Participate in weekly Zoom or phone meetings for preparation and training.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities provided by AEI.

Immediate Start:

  • Successful candidates will be able to start immediately upon hiring.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math and/or reading.
  • Passion for working with children and/or teens.
  • Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with educational technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay: $30 per hour.
  • Training and materials will be provided.
