Human Resources Business Administrator
WDAF-TV/Fox4 in Kansas City is seeking a highly organized and discreet Human Resources Business Administrator to join our team. This role is a vital, trusted partner, acting as a liaison between station leadership, corporate teams, and our valued employees. Reporting directly to the Vice President & General Manager (VP/GM), you'll be instrumental in managing critical HR functions and overall business operations.
As the Human Resources Business Administrator, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Human Resources & Employee Relations:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel and HR files.
- Administer all aspects of employment processes, including benefits, onboarding/orientation, leave management, and payroll.
- Ensure EEO compliance and prepare relevant reports.
- Manage worker's compensation and auto insurance claims.
- Assist management with effective and consistent performance management.
- Foster effective employee communication across the station.
- Organize and direct station employee events.

Employee and Labor Relations:
- Respond to union information requests.
- Provide assistance and advice to managers and supervisors on contract interpretation and administration (union contracts and personnel policies).
- Participate in Collective Bargaining Agreement meetings.
- Manage compliance and grievance processing for both represented and non-represented staff.
- Represent management in employee disputes and grievance proceedings.
- Mediate and negotiate resolution of complaints with employee representatives.
Business Administration & Operations:
- Plan, direct, coordinate, or liaise with various administrative services.
- Manage records and information systems.
- Handle all aspects of reports and accounts payable.
- Distribute monthly financial reports.
- Liaise effectively with Senior Leadership and Corporate staff.
- Manage all employee, vendor, and trade contracts.
- Oversee the station fleet and employee gas cards.
- Attend and contribute to weekly department head meetings.
- Manage facilities planning and maintenance.
- Purchase and stock station supplies.
- Assist in the planning, forecasting, administering, and controlling of budgets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP/GM.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, plus 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, Business Administrator, or Office Manager capacity is preferred.
