Job Description:

  • We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior RPG Developer with 0–2 years of hands-on experience in developing and supporting applications on the IBM iSeries/AS400 platform using RPG (RPG IV or RPGLE). The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of legacy systems and a willingness to grow in a high-demand technology space.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications written in RPG on the IBM AS400/iSeries platform.
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Debug and resolve software issues and support ongoing production systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and system integration efforts.
  • Work closely with senior developers, QA, and business analysts in an agile environment.

 

Must-Have Skills:

  • 0–2 years of hands-on experience with RPG IV / RPGLE programming.
  • Working knowledge of IBM AS400/iSeries systems.
  • Basic understanding of CL (Control Language) and DB2.
  • Familiarity with job scheduling and file management on AS400.
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Exposure to ILE concepts, Free Format RPG, or embedded SQL.
  • Basic understanding of version control tools and ticketing systems.
  • Willingness to learn modernization tools (e.g., web services, APIs on IBM i).
