Private Practice Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist

The Private Practice Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist is responsible for providing a full range of counseling and mental health services to clients of all ages. This may include working with children, teens, or adults, as individuals, couples, and families. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with all legal and ethical requirements as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and any other related governing bodies
  • Maintain good standing with the BBS, with no active investigations or complaints
  • Comply with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements
  • Utilize psychotherapeutic theories and techniques to deliver mental health services
  • Develop and maintain a client caseload that brings in a minimum of $2500 in gross revenue per week
  • Diagnose psychological disorders
  • Create treatment plans that outline proposed goals, plans, and methods of therapy
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records, treatment plans, notes, billing, assessments, and BBS-required documents
  • Complete client notes by the end of the next business day
  • Take client payments by the end of the business day of the session
  • Demonstrate ability to conceptualize cases and prioritize treatment needs as evidenced by clinical documentation and clinical consultation
  • Collaborate and consult with your manager and colleagues when appropriate
  • Complete 2 hours of marketing and/or networking a month
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Attend 1 consultation group a month
  • Start and end client sessions on time
  • Supply and support your own computer hardware, software, and internet
  • Refer clients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and productive work environment
  • Contribute to the practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered license number from the BBS to practice in California
  • Commit to a minimum of 3 years of employment
  • Participate in company community and culture
  • No pending or current investigations or complaints with the BBS or other governing entity
  • 3+ years experience conducting psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and/or families
  • Cultural, ethnic, and racial sensitivity
  • Clinical skills appropriate for level of experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and professional skills
  • Proficient in an electronic, paperless environment using Microsoft Office products, Google Workspace, Google Voice, and EHR systems
  • Strong administrative skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience working in mental health
  • Basic understanding of out-of-network insurance process
  • Unique clinical specialization or training/certification
  • Bilingual in Latin American, East Asian, South Asian, or European language
  • Creativity and resourcefulness
  • Eager to learn and grow in the organization

COMPENSATION

  • Salary range is $55–83K. This range is based on a fee split of the gross revenue and performance.
