Graduate Assistant for Data and Assessment

The Office for Foundation Scholars (OFS) supports students from cohort-based scholarship programs throughout their journey at Tulane. Through strategic collaboration and data-informed initiatives, we empower students in our cohorts to thrive at Tulane and prepare for life beyond it.  

The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Data and Assessment will support the Office for Foundation Scholars by managing student data, tracking program outcomes, and conducting assessments to inform strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a graduate student with strong analytical skills and an interest in higher education, program evaluation, and student success. 

 

For consideration, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Full-time enrollment in a Tulane graduate program
  • Experience with Excel, Qualtrics, or other data analysis tools
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to student success

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in education, public health, public administration, data science, social work, or a related field
  • Strong writing and communication skills, especially for non-technical audiences
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to student success, and opportunities

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Data Management & Reporting

  • Collect, organize, and maintain data on OFS student cohorts
  • Support the development of cohort profiles, dashboards, and retention reports
  • Assist with routine data audits to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems

 

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and distribute surveys to assess student engagement and satisfaction
  • Analyze academic performance, retention, financial, and engagement trends
  • Develop visualizations and presentations that communicate key findings to stakeholders

 

Strategic Planning Support

  • Assist with drafting assessment summaries for internal reports and external presentations
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on data insights
  • Contribute to the development of data-informed recommendations that support student success

 

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with OFS staff to align data collection with program goals and timelines
  • Collaborate with campus partners (e.g., Financial Aid, Career Services, Academic Advising) to collect relevant data and support cross-functional initiatives
