Facilities Operation Supervisor

Join our team! The City of Kentwood is seeking applicants for a Facilities Operation Supervisor in the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

Pay and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $65,200-$87,377, dependent on qualifications and experience. Additionally, the City of Kentwood offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 12% employer retirement plan contribution, 11 paid holidays, three personal days, 12 sick days and up to five weeks of vacation annually

Our policy provides employees with four weeks of fully paid leave following birth, adoption or placement for adoption. Employees who give birth are eligible for an additional two weeks of leave for a total of six weeks fully paid.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Deputy Parks and Recreation Director, main responsibilities for this role include planning, overseeing, and leading the daily operations, staffing, and facility management of Kentwood Parks and Recreation facilities. This position ensures high-quality service delivery by supervising frontline staff, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, and coordinating schedules, resources, and operational logistics.

 

Our ideal candidate has the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, recreation management, hospitality, or a field related to the work;
  • Five years of professional experience in parks and recreation program administration;
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory role OR Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Michigan Driver’s License;
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire;
  • ServSafe Food Manager and Alcohol Certification or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire;
  • Michigan TIPS Certification or ability to obtain within six months from date of hire.
