Hiring Range: $79,088 - $106,768

Who We Are:
Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. The Child and Adolescent Services team (CAST) is seeking a full-time, licensed, child and family supervisor to join our team that includes both mental health and substance use. CAST is a fun-loving and energetic team that highly values continuing professional growth, self-care, and a supportive work environment. Minimum Education and Experience:
Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in related field (master's degree preferred); three years of increasingly responsible job-related experience to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or license eligible preferred; experience working with adults with serious mental illness preferred; verbal and written fluency in both Spanish and English preferred; experience in the systems of care approach for children and adolescents, motivational interviewing, trauma Informed care and cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) preferred. Experience working at a community services board (CSB) preferred.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of theories, principles and practices of community behavioral, prevention and/or ID programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral health disorders; of relevant mental health laws. Ability to plan and organize a behavioral health project and/or components of a program; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to the assigned program; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Proficiency in clinical documentation preferred.
  
Additional Requirements
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
 • Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of assigned staff;
 • Develops and implements objectives, policies and procedures for assigned program unit;
 • May participate in budget preparation and planning and assists in administering assigned budget;
 • Provides operational oversight for key processes on the team including the management of intake requests, waiting list, and case assignments;
 • Ensures documentation in Electronic Health Record is in accordance with licensure, agency policies, Medicaid and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards for practice; trains staff on medical record requirements; regularly reviews assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and other required documentation created by staff;
 • Works closely with the leadership team and staff to continually develop the program through ongoing assessment of needs, researching and implementing evidence-based practices, and making strategic decisions to improve program quality and outcomes;
 • Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote the program, to enhance connection and communication throughout the agency and county, and to monitor and manage referrals;
 • Maintains a small caseload of clients and/or handles the more difficult and complex cases;
 • May prepare grant applications and program proposals, and manages specially funded programs as assigned; and
 • Performs other work as required.
