Fall Semester Public Policy Intern Job Posting
The Squire Patton Boggs Public Policy Internship Program is designed to provide students with a rigorous learning experience, gaining valuable skills that will allow them to provide useful contributions that will help Squire Patton Boggs and future employers deliver a high level of knowledge and participate in addressing critical and timely government policy matters. Interns are given the opportunity to gain solid work experience in order to consider a career in public service.
This 3-day per week, paid, in-person internship program is only available through the firm's Public Policy Department. The internship will begin on September 9, 2025 and will end on December 19, 2025.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Washington, DC office of Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP, is seeking three/four Public Policy Interns for the Fall 2025 semester to work with the Public Policy practice groups.
Duties of the Intern include:
- Monitoring and analysis of pending legislation and public policy initiatives;
- Assisting policy advisors, policy specialists, and others in the public policy group by conducting research associated with a prospective client, developing policy fact sheets, and tracking federal legislation;
- Attending, via webinar or telephone, congressional hearings, meetings, and training sessions and/or briefings in order to learn about public policy, lobbying; regulatory actions, laws, legislative acts, and judicial decisions;
- Providing policy advisors with policy analysis, writing, and editing reports and other projects, as relevant for various topics; and
- Providing additional administrative support as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be eligible for this program, applicants must be:
- A current junior or senior in their undergraduate education; and
- Available for a part-time work position (approximately 23-25 hours per week).
This is a fast-paced and writing intensive internship. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a self-starter, and have strong communication skills. Previous government related internship experience is strongly preferred.

The hourly wage for this position is $17.95 per hour.
