NAPS Tutor (Physics)

The Naval Academy Preparatory School invites applications for the NAPS Tutor (Physics) to begin as early as August 2025 in the Academic Department.

The primary duty of this position is to assist students in one-on-one and group settings in the subject of Physics, ranging from Newtonian Physics through Electromagnetism. The level of difficulty ranges from the traditional algebra-based course to a calculus based introductory college course. The tutor will help students develop essential mathematical skills involving trigonometry, vectors, symbolic algebra, graphs, and logarithms. At times, the tutor will be required to provide instruction and assessments for a targeted group of students.  A positive learning environment shall be established and maintained at all times. 

The position is located at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI where the overall mission is to academically qualify selected candidates, by providing rigorous curriculum and targeted academic support, for admission to the U.S. Naval Academy.
