Position Definition:
The incumbent will be conducting research related to multiple studies including cell isolation/culture, bacterial, fungal, and/or viral culture, tissue processing, histology/immunohistology, FACS, and gene/protein expression.
Essential Functions:
- Perform human blood and tissue processing, including slicing, cell isolation, magnetic sorting, and culture.
- Perform flow cytometry
- Perform RNA extraction
- Prepare assays and equipment for research studies
- Maintain cell culture including aseptic techniques
- Perform microbiological cultures including fungi, viruses, and bacteria as needed.
- Perform laboratory administration activities including the maintenance and ordering of equipment and supply, maintaining experimental inventories, and filing work/repair orders
- Bring data into lab computing environments (e.g., R) as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Working Conditions/Environment:
The work environment for this position is in a medical research laboratory. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may sustain posture in standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.
The base wage range for this position is $25.24 - $40.60 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
