Program Director
Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (SEOYM) is looking for someone to help lead our youth programs across Athens, Washington, and Meigs counties. This is a key role on a small team, with a big impact.
We might be small but we show up every day for local kids and families. If you’re someone who believes in the power of mentorship, understands rural communities, and knows how to lead programs with both heart and structure, we’d love to hear from you.
What the Program Director Does
You’d be in charge of making sure our mentoring programs run smoothly and safely. That includes:
- Supporting our staff and volunteers who work directly with youth
- Keeping things organized: schedules, partner relationships, data tracking
- Helping plan and improve programming (like summer activities, school-based mentoring, and special events)
- Making sure we’re meeting our goals, grants, and safety requirements
- Building relationships with schools, families, and community partners
You won’t be doing this alone: you’ll work closely with our Executive Director and program team. But we are small, so this is very much a jump in and make things happen role.
Who We’re Looking For
- Have worked in a youth program, school, or nonprofit (2–5 years experience)
- Feel comfortable leading others and managing projects
- Can build strong, respectful relationships with lots of different people
- Are organized and know how to juggle multiple priorities
- Care deeply about equity, inclusion, and the wellbeing of rural kids
Bonus if you’ve worked with social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, or mentorship programs, but not required.
What We Offer
- A flexible, supportive work environment
- Autonomy and trust — your ideas will matter here
- The chance to directly shape programming that supports local youth
- Room to grow with us
We know this role demands a lot — and we also know we can’t offer a salary that reflects the full value of this work. But we can offer growth, belonging, and purpose.
