Internship, Fall 2025

At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, you will obtain a hands-on, meaningful work experience designed to meet your academic and career goals. Our internships offer opportunities in research, writing, database management, policy, communications, and event preparation.

 

During the internship, you will network with colleagues and senior-level executives while participating in educational and professional activities designed to enhance your internship experience. 

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

 

The Chamber Internship Program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn at the world’s largest business organization. In addition to directly supporting a team in the organization, interns have an opportunity to participate in a variety of programming that will help build professional skills and networks.

 

Daily responsibilities for interns typically include research, drafting memos or content, and event planning and support. Specific responsibilities vary by department and semester.

The Chamber also offers programming each semester intended to provide professional development and networking opportunities for interns. In previous semesters, this has included a resume workshop, professional panel with Chamber experts, leadership luncheons, and more.

This internship is scheduled to run from Monday, September 15th through Friday, November 21st, 2025. This is a part time internship where candidates can expect to work up to 20 hours per week.

 

Interns work on a hybrid schedule and are expected to be in office at least two days a week at our U.S. Chamber of Commerce HQ in downtown Washington, DC. Fully remote applicants will not be considered. 

 

This is a paid internship, where students may also receive academic credit if they meet the criteria set by their school. The hourly rate for this position is between $17.50 - $18.00 per hour. This hourly rate depends on the candidate's education level. This internship is open to current college or graduate students, as well as individuals who have graduated within the past six months.

  • Resume Workshop – Learn how to craft a standout resume and cover letter for your career next steps.
  • Internship Speaker Series- Learn from senior level leaders at the Chamber about their career journey and how their teams impact the greater work at the Chamber.
  • Networking Events – Connect with managers and senior leadership from across the Chamber as they share tips and tricks learned throughout their careers.

The Chamber is offering internships across several different departments that cover multiple career fields. After you submit your resume, it will be reviewed by one of our recruiters and if your skills match what we are looking for, the relevant department will reach out for an interview.

The International Affairs Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce leads the business community’s efforts to shape global policy.

The Strategic Advocacy (SA) Division is responsible for managing the Chamber's policy priorities and creating data-driven resources to bolster policy initiatives. The SA interns will contribute to our workforce data centers, engage with ongoing policy priority projects, and provide support for various additional assignments. 

 

  • Communications

The Communications Division positions and promotes the Chamber, its policy priorities, agenda, and brand to our various constituencies. We have multiple internships within our Communications teams, with tasks related to social media, internal communications, and drafting and editing press releases.

  

  • Member Relations & Corporate Research

The Chamber’s Member Relations team serves as a bridge between the organization and its members, both current and prospective, leading member engagement and growth across all Chamber programs.

  

  • Executive Office

The Executive Office is Command Central for the U.S. Chamber's activities, this team strategically supports the CEO, other top executives, and the board of directors.

 

The Federation Relations and Coalition Partnerships division manages relationships with state and local chambers of commerce, trade associations and small businesses and has a membership presence in every state across the country.

     

The U.S. Chamber's Economic and Tax Policy Division focuses its work on advancing policies that create jobs and foster economic growth.

 

  • Events

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the nation’s premiere voice for business, and the Chamber’s events team amplifies this voice to reach key stakeholders in Washington, DC, and across the country. Live convenings range from intimate salon dinners to multi-day executive retreats to industry thought leadership tentpole events. Across the year, we execute 2,500+ meetings and events gathering 65K+ business and policy leaders.

This internship requires US work authorization and is open to candidates with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and/or Optional Practical Training (OPT).
