Elementary Teacher
Columbus Noor Academy, a public, tuition-free charter school in the heart of east Columbus, is seeking passionate and dedicated Elementary Teachers to join our educational team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes the academic and social development of students. This role requires the ability to engage with students effectively, implement lesson plans, and support diverse learning needs, including those of students with special educational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead students on an active learning journey that meets children at their current level and then builds the foundation from which they can soar.
- Implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote literacy education.
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports childhood development and encourages student participation.
- Assess student progress through various evaluation methods and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative educational experience.
- Support students with special education needs, including those with behavioral needs, by utilizing appropriate teaching methods and resources.
- Maintain classroom discipline while promoting respect and cooperation among students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education or a related field not required.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students.
