Mechanical Engineering Intern

What I liked

Zetec had a very fast paced work environment and there were many opportunities to learn from various disciplines. They also assigned each intern a mentor to help them navigate the summer projects and my mentor was critical to my success at this internship.

What I wish was different

Apart from the mentor, Zetec did not give very many additional resources such as documentation or training regarding their process. It was extremely difficult to pick up the day to day activities and required multiple conversations with many people because there was not a centralized location for operations.

Advice

Zetec is a great company to have a summer internship with. They provide different ways to relax and have fun so that the entire summer is not spent in a dusty office. They challenge their interns to produce results and there is a fairly strong support network of people that you can go to when you are confused or unsure of the direction you are going.
