Learned a lot about the industry. Everyone was happy to answer my questions. I got see two sides of the asphalt industry: quality control and R&D. I had a lot of independence with my work.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time. I had to rush things and cut things out of my research project that I didn't have time for. I also wish I would have had some reading material prior to the internship to learn about what I was going to be doing.
Advice
Plan your weeks and try to stick to the plan as much as possible so you can finish your project! Communicate early and often with mentors and chemical suppliers.
