IT Business Analysis Intern

June - August 2022 • Rosemont, IL

What I liked

The US Foods internship program stuck out to me because they provide real projects that impact the company in big ways, even for interns. Having the ability to engage in meaningful work fostered my learning experience, alongside the amazing cultural values present here. The people are so kind.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship program had more in-person interaction. Amidst the pandemic and all, though, I think US Foods did a great job of providing a strong learning environment in a blended setting.

Advice

Ask questions, utilize your resources, and appreciate the kind and intelligent people that work for US Foods.

IT Specialist Intern

May - August 2022 • Tempe, AZ

What I liked

Everyone is so kind, supportive, and you can tell they genuinely care about you as an intern. Your addition to the company is clearly a welcome one, and the work you do has a necessary impact on the company as a whole. They do not give you "busy work", but rather work that matters and makes a difference. You will meet a wide range of people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures, but at USF you all share a common goal.

What I wish was different

A bit more shadowing of jobs and more specific lessons on job duties, the learning curve is steep but if you really love to learn then you're in the right place.

Advice

Don't be afraid to add your input to everything, this company not only accepts but encourages feedback from all new hires and interns. They love to hear from you and they love when you show initiative.

What I liked

Everything was quite great about this internship, from the culture, to the people, to the food, to the work, to the feedback. I learned a ton in my short experience there and received so much support.

What I wish was different

I do wish that we had a bit more time to sink our teeth into the internship, and it would have been great to have more intern interaction, but I understand that most of the interns were out in Rosemont.

Always be networking. Look for opportunities to put yourself out there and meet new people, connections are vital.
