Undergraduate Researcher

June - August 2018 • Oak Ridge, TN

What I liked

It was amazing to be able to do research at a national lab like Oak Ridge. I enjoyed being able to be involved in such large projects and seeing the most advanced technologies in the world.

What I wish was different

The management of the internship seemed a bit silly, with taking the undergraduate researchers away from the work to go to weekly meetings about things that really did not pertain to the research that the students were conducting.

Advice

I would recommend anybody to apply to these opportunities. Moving hundreds of miles away and meeting new people who are just as passionate about science as you are is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
