I loved my research mentor, she was very friendly and kind.
What I wish was different
I wish the community in which I worked was more diverse. I was the only minority in my lab and I didn’t get treated as fairly.
Advice
Work as hard as you can because someone is always watching you.

University Teaching Assistant
June - July 2018 • Seattle, WA
What I liked
Spending time in various classrooms, catering to the summer learning needs of very talented 5th - 10th graders in a university campus/setting, including classroom research, fieldtrips, camps-related logistics and communication.
What I wish was different
Longer time to get to know more participants and key instructors so helping them would be more efficient and I could use my learned strengths even better.
Advice
Enjoy every moment of work, even if it gets boring, say waiting for next task, or running around, or lifting heavy things because every little task matters to the team and particiants, especialy when participants are younger, aspring future college students.
