What I liked
I liked learning new technical data processing softwares and creating designs. I loved the opportunity to get to know and work with professors and graduate students.
What I wish was different
I wish I started earlier.
Advice
My piece of advice to all the other fellow engineering students is that do not get frustrated when you come across a problem. Try to troubleshoot it with your best potential. It feels great to fix an equipment by urself. It feels great when supervisors trust you with executing the equipment/project.

Undergraduate Research Assistant
December 2016 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
I love working with the group of people there. Everyone is really friendly and always willing to help if I have questions. Most importantly, I am gaining valuable experience on the daily duties of a researcher and what it is like to conduct independent research.
What I wish was different
If I could change anything, it would be the flexibility in schedule. Working in animal research is heavily dependent on being to able to work most days which makes work/life balance difficult.
Advice
Try research. It is impossible to know if you will like something until you experience it first hand.
