The Town of Essex Public Works Department oversees a wide range of duties. Public Works is in charge of winter road operations, stormwater, water and sewer, building maintenance, and construction activities. Public Works is also responsible for ensuring that the Town is complying with local, state, and federal regulations as well working closely with Town representatives and the Legislature on policy-related issues.
