Interning as a screener for the Lonely Seal International Film Festival was a welcoming and informative experience. It was clear from the beginning that this internship was going to be student oriented with the goal of making sure I was learning as much as possible and that I was learning about what interested me.
What I wish was different
I completed this internship remotely in the 2020 climate effected by COVID-19, and the Lonely Seal International Film Festival rose to the challenges that created, as a brilliant solution, this year's festival was held online on the Lonely Seal's streaming platform. The only thing I wish would have been different would be for the festival to have been able to be held in person.

What I liked
I really enjoyed the mentoring and insightful information on the film industry. I also enjoyed learning about what makes a good film and being able to watch a variety of a different types of films.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more clarity about assignments and more streamlined meetings.
Advice
I would definitely attend all meetings and make sure you connect with the other interns.
