The hours, and the getting called in almost every day I had off.

Advice

Expect those who have been working for a long time to call off a lot. Thus you will be filling in. You need to be open with your hours. Do your job so others don't have to do extra, and be willing to learn. This is a learning job, not one to keep

It was a fairly small store so I knew and was able to form bonds with all of the other employees.

What I wish was different

Even though it was a part time job I was worked almost 40 hours a week and would get in trouble if I had overtime, so more manageable hours.

Advice

Working in a small shop isn't very great unless you love being worked to the bone for pennies.

I got to eat sandwiches after an 8-hour shift. They were pretty tasty and definitely did not get old after the 50th time.

Our manager could have been better. She made many contradictions.

There should have been a full-time manager above the age of 25 working there. Poor management and communication was one of the main reasons I left this job.
