What I liked

I really loved the people and the environment it was very fast paced and I was able to learn a lot from a lot of different teams.

What I wish was different

I wish there were.a couple of people around my age so I could connect faster with the people that I was working with. But none the less, the experience was definitely an unforgettable one.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share about this experience is that go into everything with an open mind, and step upto risks and challenges because that is the only way you are ever going to learn.

Job Recruiter

May - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Everything. I loved working with my team. I also loved being able to communicate with hiring managers that were in all different departments of the company. This internship gave me the opportunity to create a social network around New York city investors and I was able to expand beyond that. Though this job was a very difficult and time consuming at times, it made me acquire skills and further my intellectual knowledge.

What I wish was different

I wish I was put in different sectors of this job because I learned and picked up things very quickly. Therefore, I wish I was able to learn more and expand outside my comfort zone.

Advice

Be really hard working, the more you work the more opportunities you will open and achieve. Nothing comes easy.

Summer Programming Analyst

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I loved the community and the culture of the company! There was a huge international community, specifically from France which I found to be really meaningful to experience in the IB world.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had personally stepped out of my comfort zone more and reached out to more people at the company since it was a small organization in the New York office and it was very easy to reach out and inquire about different parts of the bank.

Advice

Again, I wish i had stepped out of my comfort zone more because the small size of the New York office really allowed for a more personal experience so really take the time to network and make connections because it can be a really rewarding experience.

Trading Analyst Intern (Securities, Commodities, and Financial Services)

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

It paid very well and was low-stress.

What I wish was different

I wish it had more structure throughout the summer because the bosses on several trading desks did not have time to mentor their interns and frequently didn't have any work for them to do.

Advice

Be an extrovert. Meet a lot of people on the trading floor and build relationships.

Investment Banking Analyst Intern

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I really enjoyed the culture. Everyone within the firm was very open to meeting over coffee and explaining their background and offering advice. The teams were smaller than most banks, which allowed for more intimate relationships.

What I wish was different

I wish that the intern analysts would have had more of an opportunity to collaborate, especially across divisions.

Advice

Go in with an open mind and understand the importance of fit. Being technically savvy is important, but it is also critical that you get along well with those in your team.

Markets Summer Analyst

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Lunches with senior members of the organization give insight into the company. People want you to explore the entire firm, not be confined to your desk.

What I wish was different

The morale and intern experience differs greatly from desk to desk. The rotations were chosen without input from interns.

Advice

Get to know as many areas as possible and utilize the mentorship program. This will help you get to know different areas, and not be limited by the few desks that you have a chance to actually work on.
